We are delighted to reveal the launch of our Fowey Hall Outdoor Market on 30th May, on our terrace overlooking the Fowey Estuary.
We have loved welcoming diners back to our terrace restaurant over the last few weeks and we are even more excited about welcoming guests back to the hotel when we reopen later this month. We are committed to making this summer one to remember for all our guests and we have lots of exciting plans to make this happen.
Firstly, we are delighted to reveal the launch of our Fowey Hall Outdoor Market on 30th May, on our terrace overlooking the Fowey Estuary. The market will feature an amazing array of hand-picked producers and artists who share the hotel’s vision for sustainable and local produce. Guests will be able to enjoy delicious coffee and bacon sandwiches, whilst shopping at the stalls featuring regenerative vegetables and farm produce, basket weavers, wood carvers, fashion, cake stalls, potters, quilters, artists, antiques, as well as enjoying Cornish storytellers and musicians and lots more.
To bring the market to life, Fowey Hall Hotel is partnering with former Vogue contributing editor Fiona Golfar who lives locally and recently launched Fowey Hall's Little Shop, former Port Eliot Festival director and co-founder and director of Farms to Feed Us, Cathy St Germans and Harriet Baylis. They have an amazing wealth of knowledge and contacts and have been able to bring together local friends from farmers to artists, tapping into the rich creative network that exists in Cornwall.
We are delighted to be offering all the stalls to the suppliers free of charge, to support them as they restart their businesses following the pandemic. Our Managing Director, Simon Maguire, commented, 'We are really excited to be launching this initiative at our Cornwall hotel. We think it’s important to support local and regional businesses in the area and showcase their exceptional produce and products to both our guests and as wide an audience as possible'.
After the market has finished and just before dinner (4.30pm-6pm), local musicians will play on the terrace, while guests enjoy the spectacular views over the estuary and children can play in our extensive grounds.
The market will run every other Sunday morning, 10am-2pm from the 30th of May and throughout the summer.
