Fowey Hall and TouchWood Play are thrilled to bring you our new ‘Wind in the Willows’ inspired play area. TouchWood designs, build and install amazing natural play environments where kids of all ages – and their imaginations – can run wild. It's all about feeling free, learning through play, and creating a safe but challenging place.
As this exciting company nears its 20th birthday, Fowey Hall has embraced their highly innovative and crafted play landscapes and taken the plunge to be the first hotel project for TouchWood Designs. After all, they have an impressive list of clients having recently worked with The Duchess of Cambridge on her “back to nature” garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, and subsequently on her new play area at RHS Wisley.
Using FSC accredited timber, it's constructed from round poles, therefore, eradicating the waste from cutting the timber into straight lines. During the installation TouchWood Designs used helix anchor bolts which ensure a no-dig approach to foundations, protecting the Edwardian garden and furthermore no concrete was needed.
The new play area is full of fun for all the family with a 30 metre zip wire, nest swing but the piece de resistance is Toad Hall, an impressive feature reflecting the mansion from The Wind in the Willows classic, with a rope ladder, slide and tower area. There are also springer lily pads and an events space where children can read a classic tale or enact a play of their own!
It's all great fun for children, parents, and the local community. You won’t be able to resist giving it a try!
