Fresh seafood is landed by Fowey’s fishermen; bangers and mash are sourced from farms on our doorstep.

Our chefs create seasonal menus using the best local ingredients, complemented by Cornish-inspired flavours such as samphire from the beaches and herbs picked from our kitchen garden.

From leisurely breakfasts and light lunches to afternoon teas, early dinners and picnics packed for the beach, we offer flexible dining options. Our restaurants and menus are geared-up for children, whether they favour boiled eggs and burgers, or wholesome, organic baby food accompanied by a fine selection of ‘mocktails’. Our friendly staff encourage little diners to enjoy mealtimes while parents relax, and we serve High Tea for children with nannies on hand.

Choose family dining or fine dining

While you don’t have to worry about your children’s table manners at family mealtimes, once little ones are tucked up in bed you can switch on the baby listening service (or we’ll arrange a babysitter, if you prefer) and dine by candlelight, enjoying Cornish cuisine and fine wines in our 2 AA Rosettes restaurant.

Our chef and suppliers

Our Head Chef James Parkinson has over 25 years’ experience working in the kitchens of luxury hotels, but is also a parent who knows how to cater for the foodie demands of the whole family.

James and his team have got to know the local farmers and fishermen, meaning that the finest, freshest ingredients are plated up in our restaurants. Our seafood comes from a small family business, Fish For Thought, while our eggs are laid by free-range hens at Rosedown Eggs in Bodmin. Our ice cream comes from the Parker family at Callestick Farm, where award-winning ice cream has been made for over 20 years.

We also serve the finest Cornish tipples: Camel Valley wines, Sharp’s beers brewed in Rock, and Tarquin’s Gin distilled in the southwest.

Flexible dining

We like to make mealtimes easy and convenient for families. Children’s meals and light snacks are served all day, and you are welcome to have meals delivered to your room. Our chef will also provide fresh, pureed baby food from 7am–10pm.

Breakfast is very much a family affair. Even the youngest guests can help themselves to the buffet and pile their plates with cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, pastries and muffins. In addition to the continental buffet, our plated options are designed to fortify all ages for an active, fun-packed day ahead.

Lunch is informal, with a full children’s menu and a lighter menu for parents. On warmer days dining tables spill out onto the terrace for alfresco meals and afternoon cream teas. At Sunday lunchtime, we pull out the stops for a traditional three-course roast, which is also very popular with locals. If you’d rather be out exploring during the daytime, we can pack a picnic for the beach or suggest the best local places to try.

Because young diners like to eat early, Children’s High Tea is served from 5-6pm daily. Our nannies are on-hand to help out, so parents can relax with aperitifs and nibbles. Or, if you prefer to sit down for dinner together, we offer a family dining option from 6pm.

Once the children are tucked up in bed, dinner is a sophisticated, fine-dining affair. Tuck into Cornish cuisine, sip vintages recommended by our expert sommelier and catch up on time as a couple while you relax under the discreet and attentive service of our staff.
